Portsmouth completed the signing of Lee Evans last week to bolster their dwindling midfield ranks.
The 29-year-old has recently returned from a knee injury, which saw his Ipswich Town contract terminated in January.
Evans is yet to feature for the Blues, and John Mousinho has earmarked the midfielder to feature in the final “seven or eight” fixtures.

“The outstanding name on the list was Lee Evans. He brings a huge amount of experience, and we knew we’d probably not be able to get him if he was fully fit,” he told The Portsmouth News.
“We’ve got that to contend with, but we feel he has a big part to play in the rest of the season when we get him to speed.”
The midfielder is only contracted until the end of the season, but, in an interview with BBC Sport, he hasn’t ruled out featuring next season.
Lee Evans wants Portsmouth stay next season
Speaking on his future, Evans said: “It’s a club where I’d love to stay for longer; that’s down to me to put in good performances.
“I hope we can come to some arrangement at the end of the season.”
On his injury issues, the 29-year-old added: “I’m glad to have finally resolved the issue with surgery, I’m ahead of schedule.
“I’m not too far away to be honest, I’m training with the first team and looking forward to getting back playing.”
How important will Lee Evans be for Portsmouth?
Portsmouth’s run-in, on paper, is probably the hardest in League One. Per Soccer stats, the Blues remaining opponents, on average, have amassed 1.61 points per game.
With a tricky run ahead, having a player who knows how to get out of the league will be absolutely vital; Evans is precisely that.

He has gained promotion with Wigan and Wolves and was part of the Ipswich Town side, arguably the greatest to ever grace the third division.
Pompey have a serial winner on their books, and looking to start Evans for the trip to Peterborough United should be at the forefront of Mousinho’s mind.
