Loanee makes claim sure to get Pompey fans on side immediately

Tino Anjorin has made the claim that Portsmouth bigger than south coast rivals Bournemouth and Southampton.

The Chelsea youngster signed for Pompey this window, an exciting signing that fans are very happy with.

Signing on loan for the season there are high expectations on the shoulders of the 21-year old.

It was clear that his new manager was pleased to get him in: “We’ve got a player with Premier League capability, who’s excellent on the ball and has real athletic qualities.

“We’re delighted that we’ve managed to get it over the line and secure Tino’s signature and we’re excited to see what he’s going to bring.”

Despite his injury troubles, if he can get a consistent run of games he will be an important player.

What has Tino Anjorin said?

The midfielder was born in Poole, just an hour away from Portsmouth, so he knows plenty about the area and its football background.

Anjorin started his youth career with Bournemouth and was there until Chelsea snapped him up, aged seven.

When discussing his move, he said: “I know Portsmouth is a massive club. I’m from down south, so I know they’re a bigger club than Bournemouth and Southampton.”

This line is sure to get Pompey fans excited and behind their new man even more.

It is clear that he has ambition to play at a top level, and he hopes to be there with Portsmouth.

On this point he said: “We have to get Pompey back to where they belong.

“Pompey’s not a League One club, Pompey’s not a Championship club. Pompey are a Premier League club.”

When asked about his goals, the answer was clear: “The ambition now is to get promotion.”

Anjorin hasn’t hampered the hope Pompey fans already had for him, if anything he’s heading towards cult hero status already.

He probably hasn’t helped himself in terms of relations with Southampton and Bournemouth, but Pompey won’t care about that one bit.
